'You know you've achieved perfection in design, not when you have nothing more to add, but when you have nothing more to take away.'

-Antoine de Saint-Exupery

I found the above quote on tothfans.com and it has TOTH written all over it.

ALEX TOTH died at his drawing table Saturday morning, May 27th, 2006.
In the end, as artists, we are the work that we leave behind. And the work of this great man has helped make me a better artist.

His stop-you-cold art had a living, breathing, NOW quality to it that distanced him from the rest and was so unmistakably him. It lived on the page, without being ‘realistic’ in the worst sense of the word.

I’ll say it again:

Alex Toth is the Truth, the whole Truth and nothing but the Truth.

May his work live on forever….

The world just got a little emptier because of his passing. He was a true master artist.
