Here are some older images which I've tweaked for the Rifqa Barry Rally today. The top one is being shown at the rally by a friend of mine, Butte Metz, below, who suggested adding the appropriate words in white to the image.

Killian Duke, the cartoonist behind Pigman, the superhero comic book within my graphic novel The Infidel.
Monday, November 02, 2009
A look at some of the stages I go through to get to my final page design. It all starts in pencil on newsprint paper, then on to tracing paper, where I make up to a dozen rough sketches in pen and marker until it gets to a point where I'm ready to transfer it to bristol board paper.
For new visitors:
This is a page design from my upcoming graphic novel, The Infidel. It's of Killian Duke, the cartoonist hero of my story, who creates the Pigman superhero character after 9/11. I currently have available a collection of my blog work promoting The Infidel, which includes a number of essays on the threat we face, called ProPiganda: Drawing the Line Against Jihad, which mainly features Pigman ripping into the enemy in word and deed. Here's how I break down The Infidel:
A story about twin brothers, Killian Duke and Salaam Duka, whose Muslim background comes to the forefront of their lives on 9/11. Killian responds to the attacks by creating a counter-jihad superhero comic book called Pigman, as Salaam surrenders to Islam and becomes a Born Again Muslim, following the faith to wherever it leads him. The Pigman story is the comic book within the graphic novel that's a super echo of the main story.
Here's a look from ProPiganda at The Majors in The Infidel
So thanks for visiting, take a look around and leave your thoughts.

And here's Muslim Bassam Tibi on Islamic peace:
"At its core, Islam is a religious mission to all humanity. Muslims are religiously obliged to disseminate the Islamic faith throughout the world. "We have sent you forth to all mankind" (Q. 34:28). If non-Muslims submit to conversion or subjugation, this call (da’wa) can be pursued peacefully. If they do not, Muslims are obliged to wage war against them. In Islam, peace requires that non-Muslims submit to the call of Islam, either by converting or by accepting the status of a religious minority (dhimmi) and paying the imposed poll tax, jizya. World peace, the final stage of the da’wa, is reached only with the conversion or submission of all mankind to Islam…Muslims believe that expansion through war is not aggression but a fulfillment of the Qur’anic command to spread Islam as a way of peace. The resort to force to disseminate Islam is not war (harb), a word that is used only to describe the use of force by non-Muslims. Islamic wars are not hurab (the plural of harb) but rather futuhat, acts of “opening” the world to Islam and expressing Islamic jihad. Relations between dar al-Islam, the home of peace, and dar al-harb, the world of unbelievers, nevertheless take place in a state of war, according to the Qur’an and to the authoritative commentaries of Islamic jurists. Unbelievers who stand in the way, creating obstacles for the da’wa, are blamed for this state of war, for the da’wa can be pursued peacefully if others submit to it.
In other words, those who resist Islam cause wars and are responsible for them."

Killian Duke, hero of my graphic novel, The Infidel, stepping out with his Pigman t-shirt.
Once more, Pigman's chest symbol mainly signifies 9-11. The left side of the red 'S', together with the left tower makes out a 9, with both towers making out an 11, for 9-11. Also, the 'S' can stand for September with the towers as 11. Another image the symbol makes is the dollar sign, since Pigman is most definitely a Capitalist Pig. And in the old superhero tradition, S is also for Super. I also have two small dents on the right tower, meant to be a 3, that along with the 9 makes for 93, which is meant as an homage for the heroes of flight 93, but can also be be taken as acknowledging the first WTC attack on 1993. Pigman also has a scarred pentagon on his right shoulder, because I think we tend to forget about the losses at the Pentagon on 9-11.

Here's the latest excuse from a leftist rag that engages in media malpractice, only when shamed into giving one, due to their ideological inability to report on the Van Jones story:
“This is not an excuse,” the managing editor of The New York Times said after offering the following excuse for completely missing the Van Jones story, except in a blog post: “Our Washington bureau was somewhat short-staffed during the height of the pre-Labor Day vacation period.”

"In a world where men fly planes into towers and are celebrated as heroes by the vile culture that breeds them, we need a new kind of hero that symbolizes our battle against such evil. An icon against jihad who does the right thing no matter how bad it looks, and who brings an unprecedented ruthlessness to a ruthless enemy. A hero who is a great villain to all those who had a good day on 9/11/01. Ready or not, here comes Pigman." -from my intro to ProPiganda

From my intro to ProPiganda:
"Though I was born into a Muslim family, I became interested in Islam only after 9/11/01, when 19 Muslims murdered 2,996 human beings in the name of Islam. Those who always gave a damn for the truth did their homework and found out for themselves what Islam really meant before they said one word about it. But then there were the politicians and the ideologues. Even before the smoke cleared, Western politicians and intellectuals who knew nothing about Islam couldn't wait to exonerate it by uttering the anti-reality check of our time, 'Islam means peace.' This ensured that a rational response to jihad by those in power would be sold out for ideas such as political correctness, multiculturalism and moral relativism. And though we have come to expect most of our politicians to be unprincipled whores, if enough of us were willing to know what must be known about those who would wipe us out, we could pressure these hacks to actually do their job. Instead, our culture's willful ignorance about Islam and its jihad has allowed our leaders to do just enough to give us the impression that they're defending us. It's as if they've decided that, while the protection of America is optional, the defense of Islam is absolute."
Nine years later and the enemy remains undefeated, while Islam continues to infect our lives in ways we never would have imagined in a post-9/11 world. Islam began contaminating the world when Mohammad decided that his sword was mightier than Allah's word, and what began by the sword can only end by the sword. But today, we're losing the battle on all fronts. The enemy has a righteous evil animating it, and will stop at nothing to get its way, while those in charge of our defense are politicians who will stop at everything, constantly avoiding what needs to be said and done, and looking to make deals with devils at every turn. We are encouraging this objectively weak enemy to continue its march against us. And while the enemy is being true to Islam, we are not being true to our way of life. Unless we decide that we want to live more than they want to kill us, this war against us will go on as it has, until the enemy is strong enough to hit us harder than they did on 9/11/01. Tragically, it appears it will come to that, but I think this will also precipitate the beginning of the end of Jihad, of Sharia Law and, finally, of Islam itself.
This is my take on a great piece by John David Lewis for The Objective Standard:
Obama's Atomic Bomb:
The Ideological Clarity of the Democratic Agenda
I see "the World" infiltrating America more than ever through Obama, with all of its fundamentally Un-American values being foisted on us. America is not 'The World", and it never was. It is unique among all countries that have ever existed in history, but B.O. seems hellbent to make us just like the rest of the world. But being Obama, he overlooked the American people, who seem as hellbent on not letting him get away with it, and who will, it looks more and more everyday, end up saving America from "The World."

Obama and his fellow scumbags want to bury the meaning of 9/11 in the name of something more "positive," "forward-leaning," and "productive." They want to officially make September 11 into a 'National Day of Service.' An Outrage among outrages. Here's the sick story.
