romney/RYAN 2012

Paul Ryan may have publicly distanced himself from Ayn Rand, but her influence on him enters this campaign and that's a value that cannot be overlooked. Kudos to Romney for picking his superior.

30 years after her death, her message is being backpacked, hopefully, into the WH, with Ryan towing it. This is an absolutely incredibly important step. I just got goosebumps. If Rand were to write the story of how her message would seep into the mainstream consciousness, it would be through a character like Ryan. The fact that he distanced himself a bit from her message -- publicly -- would make the fictional story believable. If we are to believe that Rand's vision, for the worse is germane to today's stream of conscience then only someone like Ryan would be able to "sneak" into the WH in this manner. Is it perfect? No. But there is no other way this could have happen, considering today's climate. This is HUGE!

Let us hope he has some solid Objectivist support staff. I know firsthand how much one can steer things in a better direction.

From what I hear, a good number of staffers in the house are fans of Rand's work. And since most politicians are mere vessels, they're likely being nudged towards positions they might not otherwise.
