Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Others' Happiness?

I was just listening to the end of an archived episode of Mark Levin's radio show from last week and heard this:

Mark Levin : "Is happiness the end all be all?"

Hugh Hewitt : "Not our own, but the happiness of others."

So our Founding Fathers fought for Life, Liberty and the pursuit of others' happiness? Obama has uttered the same claptrap. And we act surprised that Obama has had his way with the American right.

Both right and left want us to sacrifice our own happiness for something they deem to be more important. Here's Ayn Rand's answer to that:

"The man who speaks to you of sacrifice is speaking of slaves and masters, and intends to be the master."

Ayn Rand on Altruism.
