Phony in chief

Phony in chief continues calling them "phony scandals", when the only thing that's real about him are his scandals. And if we didn't have phony representatives, he'd have been impeached by now.

If Jack Bauer Was A Superhero...

There was a moment in this week's 24-episode 9 of season 9- where Jack Bauer did something that I could see Pigman doing, in the same exact way Jack did it. (Actually, Pigman did do something similar in The Infidel #1.) I don't want to give it away, but it was a ruthless act committed with Moral Righteousness and Zero doubt.  The power of art, showing us what could be, what should be, and in this case, how our real world jihadist enemy should be treated by us. It was a hell of a moment that just further proves why Jack Bauer is one, if not the, greatest character in television history.

Here are two of my earlier Pigman/24 cartoons.

Bill O'Reilly, "Fact-Based Guy", Calls Liar in Chief Obama "An Honest Man"

After he "disses" Obama critics, Mr. Spin calls the Liar in chief honest.

Here are my other posts on Bill O'Reilly.

Koba Means Peace an "Islam means peace" kind of way. Here's the latest clip from the upcoming Dawn of The Planet of The Apes film. It features Koba, an ape who pretends he means peace....

"That Old Piece of Cloth"

Frank Miller on The American Flag

Don't Let it Go.

I take part in Amy Peikoff's weekly radio show, Don't Let It Go Unheard. The show airs Live on Fridays at 3-5 Eastern time, with live callers and chat room comments welcomed. The name of the show is inspired by an Ayn Rand essay, "Don't Let It Go". Here's an excerpt:

“If America drags on in her present state for a few more generations (which is unlikely), dictatorship will become possible. A sense of life is not a permanent endowment. The characteristically American one is being eroded daily all around us. Large numbers of Americans have lost it (or have never developed it) and are collapsing to the psychological level of Europe’s worst rabble….

“We cannot fight against collectivism, unless we fight against its moral base: altruism. We cannot fight against altruism, unless we fight against its epistemological base: irrationalism. We cannot fight against anything, unless we fight for something — and what we must fight for is the supremacy of reason, and a view of man as a rational being.”

–Ayn Rand, in her 1971 essay, “Don’t Let It Go,” in Philosophy: Who Needs It (The Ayn Rand Library Vol. 1)

The Jezabels

Here's my sketch of Hayley Mary, the lead singer of the Australian band, The Jezabels. I had the pleasure of joining Amy Peikoff as she interviewed her this week. Check it out here

Subverter in chief

but for those who've paid attention, there's nothing secret about it

"What's Between You And That Lady?" -- "Everything"

As you may know, it's the tenth anniversary of my first graphic novel, Table for One. To the left is page 56 of my story. And here's my breakdown of it:

Imagine Dirty Harry as a waiter. It's one hell of a night in an underground restaurant in Manhattan. William Howland's boss bet against him lasting a year as a waiter under him. It's pay-up time. But on this night, Will's code to treat all as they deserve doesn't serve anyone well, and he might not even last the night. And then she walks in...

Check out what they're saying about Table for One.

Miss Reagan Now?

Whatever his flaws, Ronald Reagan -who died ten years ago today- never looked better than he does right now. As for those who keep saying about Ted Cruz, "He's no Reagan": Who else are they saying that about? It's a compliment to Cruz, however unintended. Cruz evokes Reagan unlike anyone else in Washington today, and he speaks about government in the same way Reagan did, with no reverence whatsoever, which resonates with the American people.
